Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 9:41 PM EST Feb. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Wednesday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central New Hampshire and northern New Hampshire,
including the following areas, in central New Hampshire,
Sullivan. In northern New Hampshire, northern Coos, northern
Grafton, southern Coos, and southern Grafton.

* Through Wednesday evening

* record warmth will lead to snowmelt and river ice breakup,
which may result in ice jams and flooding.

* Areas where ice jams are in place from the January thaw will
be most susceptible to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Ice jams can move at any time. Persons near the river should be
alert to rapidly fluctuating water levels.
