The weather here in Southern Alabama has been most excellent for the last couple of weeks. Warm days with temps in the upper 60's, 70's and even low 80's at times. A great preview for the spring! What an active night for this time of year! Always exciting to get some severe thunderstorm activity in the area! The line of storms had heavy rain, strong winds, vivid lightning. They were moving pretty fast up to 70 knots so they passed through quickly. Some limbs, small trees and power lines were reportedly downed in the southern part of Covington County. No injuries and no accidents.A~

foggy nite in the south

By: 1OppWx, 1:30 AM GMT on January 26, 2011

Weather has been wet and cool for the last couple of days. Decided to take the dog for a walk. A thick mist/fog has been hanging in the air for most of the day and was pretty bad while me and dog were enjoying our walk. Because of the mist/fog, the dog came back very wet. Her coat soaked up all the moisture in the air like a sponge.I don't mind the cool temps, but I am looking forward to some dry days with sunshine!Until next time,A~
