End of July

By: NEwxguy , 2:22 PM GMT on July 31, 2012

As always summer is flying by,right now we not experiencing much summer weather, but it is comfortable, but the heat and humidity will build in by friday and last through the weekend with only slight chances of showers or storms, mainly west and north.
A little unsettled weather later today and this evening as a low moves by us out to sea,but bringing some rain to SE Mass, Cape Cod and the islands, but once that moves by the Bermuda High strenghtens and starts pumping the heat into our area.
Has anyone noticed the shorter days?Evenings are getting much shorter, and it is getting darker in the morning when I get up.
This is a tough week for my wife and I as we try to get into a pattern, that doesn't include Prince, and its not easy.I always knew this day would come, but not so quickly, but also didn't expect it to be so difficult, but like anything we just have to give it time.

We have some rain moving in along the SE Mass and Cape Cod,some showers may make up to us here in the Boston area.People going to the Redsox game should bring some rain gear just in case.

With the beginning of August tomorrow,we turn our eyes to the Atlantic and the tropics. We currently have 99L out there approaching the Antilles, but doesn't look like it has much of future,it may get to depression level, but doesn't pose a threat to the coastal US,but waves are coming off the African coast and this is the time of year we need to watch them.

GM,Looking, good to see you are getting out to enjoy this comfortable weather,by the end of the week, you won't want to do any hiking.
I know we have August to go through, but August shows us increasing shorter days,I've become a summer person and enjoy the warm days and long evenings. I really hate the quick slide into winter, and it does seem quick.
Coming home yesterday was awful. My wife was out with our daughters,so I came home to an empty house and it echoed with the sound of Prince.I will get accustomed to his not being there, but not this week.
We have a painting a former neighbored did of Prince that is so well done.So now my ritual is to tap the picture when I leave and when I come home to greet him,the same way he greeted me without fail everyday.

GM, NEw, I was thinking about you yesterday evening coming home without a greeting from good Prince. You are so right--when something awful happens we know we can get to the other side of it but it sure takes time.

I too have noticed the shorter days. Always seems like the longer days come on so slowly and the shorter ones just so fast. I am a daylight person and really feel the shorter days strongly. We sit out on our deck for coffee in the early mornings and every day I can see the sun coming up at a different place in the sky. Moving along inexorably to that winter place!

Lovely today though--going out in a little while to do a small hike at Great Brook Farm State Park; we are having the house painted and I kind of want to get away from it. Hope all the work you did at your house is settled now and that you can enjoy it. Wish Prince were there to check it out, too.
