Another great vacation up in the Yaak area of Montana. A little known area in the very northwest corner of Montana. This is the second time we have been up there and this time was the best. Wildlife and wildflowers were everywhere, plus lots and lots of water. We got to hike some of the backcountry this time and it sure is different then the backcountry of LLano, LOL! It kicked our butts!!! But it was worth it with being to see Turner Falls which is just breath taking!!! I looked like a mud puppy when we got done with this hike. When we were driving down the access road after the hike, a lady and a child stopped us. She said her husband was cutting down a tree and didn't want it to hit us. We waited a bit and then the tree came down, right across the road an eighty footer at least. What a noise it made like a crack of thunder. It broke just right so that our little rental car could get through.
Glacier National Park is a MUST see. We were coming up a trail and rounding a corner of it when a young bull moose was standing right there. Scared both of us! But I got a decent picture of him as he was standing there figuring out what we were. The water is as blue as the pics and the mountains, well they are the Rockies.
Had a wonderful time with my son and dil, in fact she has a blog of their travels to Alaska. Starting after they left Florida. They should be in Alaska now, but still have a ways to go. If any of you are interested here is her blog address http://thefigtales.blogspot.com/ I don't know how well she will be able to update with the areas she will be in, but I am sure she will eventually. They are having a great time, dog, cat and a very pregnant lady :)
Enjoy my pics, I sure had fun taking them!!!!!!!
