Jupiter now knows he is not supposed to attack Tammu.
We still don't trust him - it's in his nature.

Morning Ylee:
I've been wandering around Las Vegas on Google Maps. Tloml and I are probably the least likely candidates for a sojourn there. A day or so watching that level of excess might be interesting though.
I played too much poker in first year university - flunked the year and lost a fair bit of cash - hopefully I learned to "Set your Limit and Play Within It!"

That's cool, ycd! I've never won anything either(I take that back, I once won a microwave at Wal-mart!). Have you guys figured out a date to go yet? I would imagine Vegas ain't cheap!

I do not read murder mysteries as an habit.
This one got to me though: "The Good Thief's guide to AMSTERDAM" by Chris Ewan.
Maybe 'cause I stayed on one of the canal boats for a while at BroughersGracht and LindenGracht. Tourists would go by on the tour boats and snap pictures of me and Tloml in the wheel house with our morning coffee. They could not know that the "locals" they were putting in the picture came from a few thousand miles away, passed through West Africa and would soon be going home.
For whatever reason I finished the book last night at about 2330. Had to get back here early afternoon 'cause the planning bit in my brain needed sleep. I would not make a decent thief no matter how many mysteries I read.

"Viva Las Vegas!"
Tloml went to a work related Promo meeting on her day off and told the Hosts that since she had never won anything she had better win a door prize. She just got home with a 1600$ gift Cert for a trip to that town. I've been there once on an Aero Cancun charter en route to Edmonton and spent an hour or so taxiing about looking for fuel. We were in one of the goofiest planes ever used: Stretched DC9: there ain't enough wing on that plane to fly without power on and flaps down as far as I'm concerned and my seat had a good view of the jet engine intake about 12' out my window.
The fellows "up Front" managed the plane pretty well I thought.

Afternoon BriarCraft:
No. Tammu is the parrot. Jupe is the "Not to be trusted" dog. He's an Husky cross and when he goes after something it's best to have a short leash and get stable 'cause you may be in for a tow (or a toe nail in my case). Somewhere back in blog history I told the story of Jupe taking me through the air and mashing my bare feet on a stone when I returned to earth. We don't blame the dog for these incidents.
Hey Ylee:
I will assume you have told the story of the Green River/Mammoth on your blog so I'll be there soon.
Jupe knocked Tammu off another ladder some years ago but got wound up in the fallen ladder. I think he had a few tail feathers in his mouth. Tammu certainly has a "bird brain" but I watch him/her closely when he/she decide to struggle up my chair to sit on my shoulder occasionally - mainly because the beak is very close to my ear and eye.

I'm assuming this picture was taken before Jupe tried to attack Tammu? If not, he's truly a birdbrain for turning his back on him, sleeping dog lying or not!

The original halo pic is better, IMO! :)

You've just reminded me of seeing my Grandpa with a beard in 1959, when Oregon celebrated its centennial. I was just a little girl then and found it great fun to dress up in pioneer garb. I remember thinking that Grandpa looked a lot like Abraham Lincoln -- hawkish nose, hollow cheeks, tall, and rather gaunt.

So is Tammu the parrot? Or the dog? Based on your comment in the header, I'm guessing Jupiter is the parrot. After all, dogs are trustworthy and parrots mischievous. Right?

Afternoon Rob:
You should'a seen my "place" today, though:
We went to my daughter's to take the roof off the service shed. You know what that implies: fiberglass insulation, rat poop, rat poison and rat carcasses. The younguns worked hard and were not sqweemish. They even took care of the roofing and insulation/rat poop dump run. Gunther had to take a break at some point: "I gotta get off this roof - think I might get sick."
We knew what we were in for and as soon as the younguns have their showers I'll get one.
I went up to take a picture but it would have been pretty disgusting so I did not.

1958 was our provincial Centennial and some fellows decided to grow beards in a competition. Dads was big and deep red then. The boys in the background are cleaning out the fire box of the "Snorkel Stove" in the Hot tub.
