That phase is over

Being back home is more or less peaceful - the Quails came up to the sundeck even though I was wandering in and out to the shop and Tloml drove into the yard.
I am guessing they don't see us as a threat any more - they used to scatter and fly about if one of us opened the door.
Saw a good sized feral black cat make a run at the quail t'other day and come up hungry. But that cat does not look malnourished.

Five days off grid:
I'll call it 'Autumn Camp'
The fellow I was working with/for had a version of the 'smart phone' so we drove the mile or so over to my cabin to get a cell phone signal, call home and check weather and a bit of news each evening. "No horse, no wife and no mustache"
No cell phone, no computer and no worries.

The high point for me at this festival is the large fresh hot radishes and the oyster burgers.
The music was pretty good too!
Now on hold to ferry six people, two dogs and a couple of kayaks to the smaller island cabin ...

We went down to Victoria Harbour to check out the boats yesterday, stayed overnight to watch the race start at noon today:
At this point the faster boats are approaching decision on whether to go out into the bigger Salish Sea or ride the tide up inside the Gulf Islands.
Winds are averaging less than 10 Knots and mostly "on the nose".
Two of the bo...
