If I recall correctly the Threshold of Energy is the point at which a reaction becomes self-sustaining.
I think about that every time I light the furnace.
Here is the definition that is closest to mine:
"extra energy which needs to be supplied to the reactents in order to bring a chemical reaction is called threshold energy." from Yahoo.

I really don't have much to complain about here.
You are invited to cook up a comment/rant about any topic.
For example:
Have you noticed the lack of ashtrays in the now 'non-smoking' world?
So you sneeze into your Kleenex and put it in your pocket.
The plastic wrappers on your crackers and the empty ketchup squeeze package have to sit on your plate or near it.
The actual Garbage Bin is somewhere out on the street - maybe ...

Light White Dusting

Very suspicious colour on my lawn here this morning.
Acu-Rite says +3 C. at about 12' above ground.
Could this white shading be a touch of frost?
Drive B.C. was showing wet snow on some mainland highway cams yesterday but no snow yet on Island cams. I checked the cams just now and even the Malahat is clear but wet here.
Still watching the fallout from HMatthew with interest.
We don't get comparable weather here very often and our boat is moo...

That phase is over

Being back home is more or less peaceful - the Quails came up to the sundeck even though I was wandering in and out to the shop and Tloml drove into the yard.
I am guessing they don't see us as a threat any more - they used to scatter and fly about if one of us opened the door.
Saw a good sized feral black cat make a run at the quail t'other day and come up hungry. But that cat does not look malnourished.
