Was attending this venue for the past few days:
There were probably a couple of WiFi hotspots I suppose but I took no implements and did not miss 'em too much.
The high point for me at this festival is the large fresh hot radishes and the oyster burgers.
The music was pretty good too!
Now on hold to ferry six people, two dogs and a couple of kayaks to the smaller island cabin ...

Don't need a new blog 'cause time and tide are what matters today - well - that and wind.
We went down to Victoria Harbour to check out the boats yesterday, stayed overnight to watch the race start at noon today:
At this point the faster boats are approaching decision on whether to go out into the bigger Salish Sea or ride the tide up inside the Gulf Islands.
Winds are averaging less than 10 Knots and mostly "on the nose".

Waiting to turn left out of a mall complex onto the through road I had a truck coming in from the right/north and signalling his/her right turn.
One car coming in fast from the south/left was in the turn lane signalling a left turn.
I thought I could safely get through and gave a bit more 'step-on it' than I usually try in such situations.
Turned out I was all wrong:

Got me to dig out my expired passports to check when my last 'long-haul' flight took place.
Looks like it was 2010 from Sofia, Bulgaria through Schipol, Frankfurt or Heathrow to Vancouver.
The longest leg, pun intended, would be from Europe to Vancouver. Since connecting passengers are not allowed out of secured areas I don't remember which airport or country we passed through and many of the stamps in my passports are illegibl...

Mom has been saying she can not use the phone we bought from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB)
The unit has buttons that are about 1"x1" arranged in the familiar pattern.
As her eyesight deteriorated we posted placards near her phone with larger and darker print with all her important numbers.
Now she cannot see well enough to read and enter the correct numbers.
