Winter Storm Watch
Issued: 2:20 PM EST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Monday afternoon through
Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday
afternoon.

* Locations... Wyoming... Livingston... Ontario... and Allegany
counties.

* Timing... from late Monday afternoon through early Tuesday
afternoon.

* Hazards... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... snow potentially accumulating 6 to 10 inches.

* Visibilities... below a half mile at times.

* Impacts... wet snow will result in slick travel conditions. The
worst travel conditions are expected Monday night, but the
storm may impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning
commutes.

* Forecaster confidence... low. Temperatures will be marginally
cold enough for snow. It will only take a small change in
expected temperatures to result in big changes to the snowfall
forecast. There still remains a wide range of potenial snow
accumulations in the watch area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means that heavy snow and/or ice
accumulations are possible. If you are within the watch area...
remain alert to rapidly changing weather conditions.
