Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:37 AM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 am this morning to
11 am EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain... which is in
effect from 8 am this morning to 11 am EST Tuesday. The Winter
Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations... Monroe County, Pennsylvania.

* Hazard types... snow, sleet and freezing rain.

* Snow and sleet accumulations... 2 to 5 inches.

* Ice accumulations... one to two tenths of an inch.

* Timing... light freezing rain and freezing drizzle will develop
after sunrise this morning at higher elevation. Sleet will mix
in with freezing rain this afternoon as precipitation becomes
steadier and heavier. Sleet may then transition to wet snow
after sunset this evening and become heavy for a period tonight.
The wintry mix is then expected to taper off early Tuesday
morning but periods of light freezing rain or freezing drizzle
may linger through the late morning.

* Impacts... snow and ice accumulations will create treacherous
driving conditions. The wet snow and glaze of ice combined
strong winds could bring down tree limbs and produce scattered
power outages.

* Winds... northeast 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Visibilities... 1/2 mile or less at times tonight.

* Temperatures... falling below freezing this morning, then
remaining steady in the lower 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet...
and freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared
for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution
while driving.

Report snow and ice accumulation to the National Weather Service
by calling our trained spotter line... posting to the NWS Mount
Holly facebook Page... or using twitter.

Snowfall and ice accumulation forecast maps in addition to
experimental probabilistic snowfall information for the latest
event are available online at www.Weather.Gov/phi/winter
