Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:45 PM EDT Sep. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 9 PM EDT this
evening...

* location... coastal Queen Annes, Talbot and Caroline counties
along the Eastern Shore of the Maryland Chesapeake Bay.

* Coastal flooding... minor coastal flooding will occur with high
tide late this afternoon into early evening.

* Timing... high tide occurs from south to north along the
Eastern Shore between 5 PM and 8 PM today.

* Surge... near 1.5 feet above the astronomical tide.

* Impacts... localized roadway and property flooding is expected
in low lying areas near the oceanfront that are prone to tidal
surge. Some roads may be closed due to high water.

* Outlook... the potential for minor coastal flooding near high
tide could continue into the next high tide cycle early
Thursday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually... the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to
costly repairs.
