Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 3:46 AM EST Jan. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EST this morning.

* Visibility... a quarter of a mile or less

* impacts... decreased visibilities will make travel hazardous
through mid morning. Major roadways affected include US Highway
74 from Rockingham to Wadesboro and points west as well as US
Highway 220 from Rockingham north to Asheboro. Portions of US
Highway 1 may also be affected from Rockingham northward through
Southern Pines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to one quarter mile or less. If driving, slow down, use
low beam headlights, and leave plenty of following distance.
Exercise additional caution at intersections and Highway onramps
and offramps where accidents are more likely to occur.
