Special Statement
Issued: 3:23 PM EST Jan. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Patchy black ice will occur late this evening and remain until
mid morning Saturday...

Melted snow and ice will refreeze later tonight as temperatures
drop below freezing. This will create patchy black ice,
particularly on residential and secondary roadways. Temperatures
are expected to drop below freezing by 10 or 11 PM, and remain
below freezing until 9 or 10 am Saturday.

Drivers are urged to use caution as black ice may not be visible
on roadways. Slow down and avoid sudden accelerations, especially
at intersections and Highway onramps and offramps where accidents
are more likely. Young or inexperienced drivers should avoid
driving after sunset through mid morning Saturday.
