Issued: 2:38 PM EDT Sep. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory now in effect until midnight EDT Friday
night...

* coastal flooding... minor flooding will continue along portions
of the St Johns River and its tributaries from Jacksonville
toward Palatka around the times of high tide. South of
Palatka... toward Welaka and the Ocklawaha river basin... minor to
near moderate river flooding will continue around times of high
Tide. Water levels will be slow to recede within the St Johns
River basin into the weekend as northeasterly winds strengthen.

* Timing... minor to moderate flooding will continue through at
least Friday evening... peaking around the times of high tide.

* Impacts... elevated tide levels will cause minor flooding of low
areas along the St Johns River and its tributaries which will
flood... mainly Parks... campgrounds... .normally flood prone
roadways and some docks and boat ramps.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that higher than normal tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the St Johns
River and its tributaries.
