* coastal flooding... tides 2-3 ft above normal during high tide.

* Coastal flood timing... 12 PM through midnight today.

* Coastal flood impacts... minor coastal flooding and overwash
especially during this afternoons high tide cycle.

* High surf... 3-5 ft today, 5-7 ft Monday, and 4-6 ft Tuesday.

* High surf timing... today through Tuesday.

* High surf impacts... a high surf advisory means that high surf will
affect beaches in the advisory area... producing localized beach
erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.

* Rip current timing... today through Tuesday evening.

* Rip current impacts... strong and dangerous rip currents are
forecast which will be hazardous for those in the surf zone.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore... which occur most often at low spots or breaks in The
Sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards... beach patrol...
flags and signs.

If you become caught in a rip current... Yell for help. Remain
calm... do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current... swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this morning
to 7 PM EST Monday...

* timing... 10 am Sunday morning through 7 PM EST Monday. *
Winds... 18 to 20 knots gusts to 25 knots.

* Impacts... high winds will build the waves on local lakes
creating hazardous boating conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

... Significant weather advisory for Pinellas and western Hillsborough
counties until 815 PM EST...

At 718 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Holiday to 35 miles west of Anna Maria.
Movement was east at 30 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Tampa, Clearwater, largo, Pinellas Park, Temple Terrace, Seminole,
downtown Saint Petersburg, Saint Petersburg, Lutz, Brandon, St.
Petersburg, St. Pete beach, Palm Harbor, Tampa International Airport,
East Lake-Orient Park, Egypt Lake-leto, town 'n' country, Ridgecrest,
Keystone and greater Northdale.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring along this line.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Ruskin.
