Wind Advisory
Issued: 4:35 PM EST Nov. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am Saturday to 4 am
EST Sunday...

* timing... peak winds outside of any thunderstorms will likely
occur in two waves. Gusty winds are expected late in the
morning to early afternoon hours. Another wave of stronger
wind gusts are forecast during the evening to overnight hours.

* Winds... peak winds of 40 to 45 mph are forecast in the morning
and then peak gusts around 45 mph are during the late
afternoon and evening. Wind gusts may reach 50 mph on ridges
above 2500 feet elevation.

* Impacts... travelers may find travel difficult on east to west
highways during the day on Saturday and on north to south
highways late Saturday afternoon and evenings. In addition,
gusts of 40 to 50 mph can cause some tree limbs or weakly
rooted trees in hilly terrain to fall, possibly leading to
isolated power outages. Winds of this magnitude will cause rough
chop on area lakes as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 40 mph or higher are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
