Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:10 PM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 430 PM EST
for Martin... eastern Letcher and central Pike counties...

At 304 PM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain was tapering off to showers. However, high water has been
reported in poor drainage areas with culverts blocked in multiple
locations in Letcher County and in sections of Martin County along
KY Highway 40 to the east of Inez. Continued runoff from the heavy
rain should lead to continued small stream or poor drainage flooding
of low water crossings and fields or pasture lands in the advisory
area.

Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Whitesburg, Inez, Cumberland, Jenkins, Elkhorn City, Fleming-Neon,
Forest Hills, Warfield, Jamboree, Pilgrim, Davella, Colly, Piso,
Sergent, Milo, jarad, Biggs, Threeforks, Adamson and Bradbury.
