* until 700 am EST Thursday

* at 1110 am EST, Doppler radar indicated an area of rain gradually
exiting the area. Around two inches of rain had already fallen.
Another area of heavy rainfall is expected to move into the area
this afternoon.

* Another one to two inches of rain is expected this afternoon and
evening. Rainfall rates may locally top a half inch per hour in
the heaviest bands. Flooding conditions are expected to worsen
into tonight with an increasing likelihood of Road closures and
threats to homes and other buildings.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Portage, Jackson, Holland, Ionia,
Grand Haven, Charlotte, Albion, Mason, St. Johns, Hastings,
Marshall, Belding, Eaton Rapids, Allegan, South Haven, Portland and
Plainwell.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Grand River at Robinson township.
* From late Thursday night until further notice.
* At 2:10 PM Monday the stage was 11.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.3 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by early Friday morning and
continue to rise to near 16.2 feet by Sunday morning. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact, at 16.0 feet... vanlopik Road is 2 to 3 feet under water.
Moderate flooding of several homes on the east end of vanlopik
subdivision occurs.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2 feet
on may 28 2004.
