The Flood Warning continues for
the Cedar River at Charles City.
* Until Monday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:30 PM Saturday the stage was 19.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall... and drop below flood
stage Monday morning.
* Impact... at 19.5 feet... Riverside Drive at north Iowa and jolsin
streets floods. Also Chautauqua Avenue floods and sandbagging is
required.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from midnight CDT tonight
through Sunday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Iowa and southeast Minnesota... including the
following areas... in Iowa... Chickasaw... Floyd... Howard and
Mitchell. In southeast Minnesota... Dodge... Fillmore... Mower...
Olmsted and Wabasha.

* From midnight CDT tonight through Sunday afternoon

* another 1/4 to 1 inch of rain is expected late tonight through
midday Sunday.

* Grounds are saturated and cannot handle any more rainfall. Any
additional rain will run off into rivers and streams... and could
result in more flash flooding. Rock and mud slides are also
possible in hilly terrain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
