Winter Storm Watch
Issued: 3:01 PM CST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Wednesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter
Storm Watch, which is in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Wednesday afternoon.

* Timing trends... snow will develop Tuesday afternoon and continue
throughout much of Tuesday evening.

* Storm total snow accumulations... 4 to 7 inches with locally
higher amounts possible.

* Winds/visibility... blustery northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph will
develop late Tuesday night and persist through the day
Wednesday. Substantial visibility restrictions due to blowing and
drifting snow are highly likely.

* Impacts... snow covered and slick roads combined with the
visibility restrictions will lead to hazardous travel
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
