Special Statement
Issued: 12:14 PM MST Feb. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter storm likely to impact region Wednesday night through
Thursday...

It is looking more and more likely that a winter storm will impact
southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska Panhandle from
Wednesday night into Thursday night. This storm will bring an
abrupt end to the recent string of warm February days and will
likely bring widespread accumulating snow to the region. While it
is still a bit early to give specific snow amounts, widespread
accumulations of 3 to 8 inches appear possible over lower
elevations with over a foot of new snow in the Sierra Madre and
snowy ranges. Blowing snow is not expected to be a significant
concern, however patchy blowing snow will be possible by Thursday
afternoon into the evening. Stay tuned for additional details on
this storm and any winter weather headlines as we approach
midweek.
