Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:44 PM CDT Jul. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
far southeast Henderson County in central Texas...
far northeast Anderson County in central Texas...

* until 745 PM CDT.

* At 542 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that were
producing heavy rainfall 1 to 3 inches from Lake Palestine and
Coffee City, south toward Berryville and Frankston. Excessive
runoff from these thunderstorms will cause minor flooding,
especiallya reas that are low lying or usually experience poor
drainage. This means some low water crossings in the region may
become impassable. Additional rainfall up to another inch is
possible through 7 PM CDT.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Frankston, Berryville, Coffee City and Moore Station.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
