Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 4:21 AM CST Feb. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Sharply colder air by Wednesday with periods of light sleet
and freezing rain possible through Thursday morning...

A strong cold front will move southward across the region this
afternoon and evening ahead of very cold air. Highs by Wednesday
are expected to remain below freezing and not thaw out until
Thursday afternoon. This cold air will set the stage for a round
of light sleet and freezing rain across much of the region by
Wednesday morning and afternoon. Light accumulations of sleet
and a thin glaze of ice will be possible in some areas. Following
a lull in wintry precipitation Wednesday night, a second round of
mostly freezing rain is expected to develop on Thursday morning,
primarily in the rolling plains.

This wintry precipitation will have the potential to adversely impact
travel at times. Monitor forecasts for the latest information including
any possible winter weather watches, warnings or advisories.
