The National Weather Service in Lubbock has cancelled the dense
fog advisory.

* Timing... winds increasing late this morning.

* Winds... 25 to 35 mph with gusts to near 50 mph.

* Impacts... strong west winds will make driving high profile
vehicles more difficult, particularly on north to south
roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph are
expected. Adjust travel and outdoor activities accordingly.

... Red flag warning in effect from noon today to 6 PM CST this
evening for 20 foot winds in excess of 20 mph... relative humidity
of 15 percent or less... and high fire danger... for the extreme
southwestern Texas Panhandle... and much of the western South
Plains...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from noon today to 6 PM CST this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Winds... west at 20 to 30 mph.

* Humidity... near 10 percent.

* Fuels... dry.

* Impacts... any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are imminent or already occurring. These conditions can create
rapid wildfire growth.
