Issued: 8:55 PM MST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am MST
Friday...

* timing... snow will rapidly increase across the area late this
evening. The heaviest snowfall should occur between the predawn
hours Thursday and through Thursday evening. Snow will continue
Thursday night, before subsiding by midday Friday.

* Snowfall accumulation... ranging from 5 to 8 inches.

* Visibility and wind... north to northwest 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 40 mph in open areas creating areas of blowing and
drifting snow and visibilities under one quarter mile at
times.

* Main impact... roads, including Interstate 80, will become
slick and snow covered. Considerable blowing and drifting snow
could make travel difficult in blowing and drifting snow

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, and or
blowing snow are expected or occurring. This could make travel
