morning to 5 am PDT Friday...

* snow accumulations... 1 to 4 inches in the valleys and 6 to 12
inches in the mountains.

* Timing... heaviest snow will be between late morning and early
evening.

* Winds... northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

* Impacts... snow covered roads and reduced visibilities will
create travel difficulties. Make sure someone knows where you're
driving and when you're going to arrive. Strong winds and areas
of blowing snow will reduce visibilities to less than one mile
at times.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Marys River above Hot Springs ck near Deeth.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:15 PM Thursday the stage was 5.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 6.3 feet by early Saturday morning.
* Impact... at 6.0 feet... flood stage, about 580 cfs. Minor lowland
flooding on lower mary's river, with minor flooding of rural roads
throughout area. Some minor flooding of streets in Deeth.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 11 am this morning to
11 PM PDT this evening...

* winds... northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph. Gusts to 55
mph are possible in northeastern and far eastern Elko County.

* Timing... winds will increase this morning with the strongest
winds from late morning through the afternoon.

* Impacts... strong gusty winds will make driving challenging,
especially those driving vans, campers, trailers, and other
high-profile vehicles. Secure loose outdoor items such as
trash cans and outdoor furniture.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts
in excess of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

... Significant weather advisory for northeastern Nye... western White
Pine... southeastern Elko and southern Eureka counties until 1145 am
PDT...

At 1110 am PDT, Doppler radar was tracking moderate strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 13 miles northwest of
Deeth to 19 miles east of Eureka Airport to 23 miles east of
Manhattan. Movement was east at 40mph.

Pea-size hail will be possible with these storms along with winds of
40 to 50 mph. In addition, conditions behind the line of storms
include much cooler temperatures along with brief moderate to heavy
snow. Visibilities of 1/2 mile or less are possible due to the snow,
along with snow covered roads. If driving through these locations,
drivers should be aware of quickly changing, winter weather
conditions.

Locations impacted include...
Wells, Ruby Valley, Cherry Creek, Ruby Lake, Duckwater, LaMoille,
Clover Valley, Deeth, Spring Creek, Angel Lake, Little Antelope
Summit, Moor Summit, Lunar Crater, Secret Pass, Harrison Pass, hd
