... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10 PM this evening
to 10 am PST Tuesday above 2000 feet...
... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 10 am PST Tuesday above 1500 feet...

* snow accumulations... 4 to 9 inches above 2000 feet... with a
trace to 3 inches between 1500 and 2000 feet. Higher peaks may
see up to 1 foot.

* Timing... snow showers will develop over the mountains this
evening and continue through Tuesday morning. Snow levels will
lower to the valley floors late tonight with snow falling at
lower locations. Snow intensity is likely to peak and snow
levels will be the lowest around mid morning Tuesday.

* Locations included in the warning... Butte Falls... the higher
elevations including Highway 62 from Prospect North... Highway
140 near the County line... and Highway 227 from trail to the
Umpqua Divide.

* Locations in the advisory... Ashland... Talent... Jacksonville
and most other locations in Jackson County above 1500 feet
including Interstate 5 at Blackwell Hill and Highway 238 at
Jacksonville Hill. The city of Medford is only expected to see
isolated minor accumulations.

* Other locations... while snow may fall in lower locations such
as Gold Hill and Rogue River... little to no accumulation is
expected due to warm ground surfaces. Only isolated
accumulations and impacts are expected in these locations.

* Impacts... snow will cause travel difficulties on local roads...
including portions of Interstate 5. Higher rural and unplowed
roads may become impassable due to heavy snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* travel is discouraged... especially in warning areas...
because of dangerous conditions.

* If you must travel... keep tire chains... a flashlight...
blankets... food... water... medications... and a fully
charged phone with you.

* A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause travel difficulties.

* A Winter Storm Warning means that severe winter weather is
likely and poses a threat to life and property. Take
protective action now.
