... High Wind Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 7 am
PST Sunday...
... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening to
7 am PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a High Wind
Warning... which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 7 am PST
Sunday.

* Winds in the warning area... southeast 35 to 45 mph with gusts 55
to 65 mph.

* Winds in the advisory area..southeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts 35
to 55 mph.

* Timing... winds will increase this evening... reaching a peak
overnight before diminishing Sunday morning.

* Locations include in the warning... much of Ashland... much of
Talent... Interstate five from Ashland to Talent, east Medford,
and eastern portions of White City.

* Locations include in the advisory... Medford... Phoenix... and much
of Interstate five from Phoenix to Gold Hill. Portions of
highways 62 and 140 will also be affected,

* impacts... trees could be toppled or damaged due to the strong
winds and wind gusts. This could cause power outages. Strong
winds and wind gusts will make travel difficult on area
roadways... especially for high profile vehicles. Loose and
unsecured objects may lost or damaged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of
58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Travel will be
impacted... especially for high profile vehicles.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected with
higher gusts possible. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra
caution.

Issued: 9:09 PM PST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 am Sunday...

* winds... S 35 to 45 kt with gusts to 60 kt through late tonight.

* Waves... short period S waves building to 10 ft at 8 to 10
seconds. Large W swell 20 feet at around 17 seconds. Seas will
remain elevated through early next week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Storm Warning means winds of 48 to 63 knots are imminent or
occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in port... or take
shelter until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should
prepare for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions... and
consider remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds
and waves subside.
