Issued: 11:51 AM MST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 9 am
MST Tuesday above 5500 feet...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Storm Warning above 5500 feet for snow and blowing snow... which
is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 9 am MST Tuesday. The
Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations include the cities of... Cortez... Dove Creek... Mancos.

* Timing... snow will begin this evening and continue through early
Tuesday morning. The heaviest accumulations will occur Monday
night.

* Snow accumulation... 6 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Winds... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... mountain roadways will become snow packed with winter
driving conditions are expected this evening through Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
