... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EST this
afternoon...

* locations... higher terrain of Massachusetts including the cities
and towns of Charlemont... Greenfield... Orange... Barre...
Fitchburg... Chesterfield... Blandford... Milford... Worcester and Ayer.

* Hazard types... snow changing to freezing rain.

* Accumulations... additional snow accumulation of up to a coating
but more importantly ice accretion from freezing rain/drizzle up
to a tenth of an inch.

* Impacts... untreated roads and walkways will be slippery for
the morning rush hour. If temperatures remain at or below
freezing... untreated roads may remain icy into this evening
with a possible impact on the evening rush hour.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
