Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:52 PM EDT Sep. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until noon EDT
Wednesday...

* locations... vulnerable locales along lower New York Harbor,
the Arthur kill, Newark Bay, and the tidally affected riverine
areas of northeastern New Jersey.

* Tidal departure... 1 to 1 1/2 ft above astronomical tides during
Wednesday morning high tides causing minor coastal flooding.

* Coastal flood impacts... shallow flooding is expected in the most
vulnerable locations near the Waterfront and shoreline. Expect
around 1 to possibly 2 feet of inundation above ground level in
low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property
including parking lots, Parks, lawns and homes/businesses with
basements near the Waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
