Issued: 11:01 AM EDT May. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EDT this
evening...

* locations... sensitive portions along shoreline of Charles and
King George counties.

* Tidal departure... 1.5 to 2.0 feet above normal.

* Timing... near high tide this afternoon. High tide at Goose Bay
is at 4:32 PM this afternoon. High tide at Dahlgren is at 3:49
PM this afternoon.

* Impacts... water is expected to reach yards near Cobb Island
and docks near Dahlgren. Minor shoreline inundation is
possible elsewhere.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water
(mllw) and mean higher high water (mhhw) unless
otherwise noted. Time of high total tide is
approximate to nearest hour. Total tide combines the
normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
