... Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* all of central North Carolina.

* Through sunrise Tuesday.

* Widespread rain will shift eastward into central North Carolina
today and tonight. Rain will be heavy at times, especially this
afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are
expected over most of central North Carolina, with locally
heavier amounts possible.

* Flooding of local creeks and streams can be expected. Water
levels in main Stem rivers will rise significantly this
afternoon and tonight, particularly the Yadkin, haw, Neuse,
tar, Roanoke, and Cape Fear.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Monitor NOAA Weather Radio or your local media outlet for the
latest forecasts and warnings. Residents in flood prone areas
should prepare for the possibility of flooding today into tonight.
