... Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 9 PM EST this
evening...

* what... snow is expected to overspread the region through mid-
morning. The snow may become heavy from late morning into the
afternoon. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Storm
total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected.

* Where... much of the Piedmont of North Carolina extending into
the sandhills.

* When... until 9 PM EST this evening.

* Additional details... in addition to the snow that will also
bring significant reductions in visibility, it will turn
bitterly cold through tonight with temperatures expected to fall
into the 10 to 15 degree range.
