The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* flood advisory for...
northeastern Broward County in southeastern Florida...

* until 430 PM EST

* at 226 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two to three inches of rain have already fallen. Additional
rainfall is likely over the next couple hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Lighthouse Point, Hillsboro Beach
and Pompano Beach Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Significant weather advisory for 45 mph winds and possible small
hail for northeastern Miami-Dade... eastern Broward and southeastern
Palm Beach counties until 330 PM EST...

* at 242 PM EST... Doppler radar was tracking a line of thunderstorms
extending from North Miami-Dade, central Broward and into
southeastern Palm Beach counties, moving east northeast at 35 mph.

* The primary impacts will be gusty winds around 45 mph and possible
small hail. These winds can down small tree limbs and branches,
and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe
building until these storms pass.

* Locations impacted include...
Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Coral Springs,
Pompano Beach, Davie, Plantation, sunrise, Boca Raton, Deerfield
Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Tamarac, Margate, Lighthouse
Point, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Highland Beach, Ocean Ridge and Miami
Gardens.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This activity was also developing in an environment favorable for the
