* Flash Flood Warning for...
Marshall County in northwestern Mississippi...
Tippah County in northeastern Mississippi...
Tate County in northwestern Mississippi...
Benton County in northeastern Mississippi...

* until 1215 am CST

* at 912 PM CST... Doppler radar estimates 1 to 2 inches of rain has
occurred over the past 2 hours. Showers and thunderstorms will
produce an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain over the next 3 hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Senatobia, Holly Springs, Ripley, Wall Doxey State Park, Lamar,
Coldwater, Byhalia, Blue Mountain, Snow Lake shores, Mt pleasant,
Strayhorn, Bethlehem, Arkabutla, Michigan City, Red Banks, Laws
Hill, Barr, Canaan, phillipp and Independence.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
the little Tallahatchie canal at little Tallahatchie river at Etta
near New Albany
* from Sunday February 25 until Monday February 26.
* At 08 PM Saturday the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 26.0 feet on Monday February 26.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Sunday February 25 and
continue to rise to near 26.0 feet by Monday February 26.The river
will fall below flood stage by Monday February 26.
* At 26.0 feet... County Highway 47 near Mud Creek and Mill Creek has
6 to 12 inches of water over it. Several thousand acres of crop
land are flooded.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east Arkansas, north Mississippi, southeast
Missouri, and west Tennessee, including the following areas,
in east Arkansas, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, cross, Greene,
Lawrence, Lee, Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and
St. Francis. In north Mississippi, Alcorn, Benton, Coahoma,
DeSoto, Marshall, Panola, Quitman, Tate, Tippah, and Tunica.
In southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In west
Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer,
Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry,
Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton, and
Weakley.

* Until 6 am CST Sunday

* additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible
through early Sunday morning, with highest amounts expected
north of Interstate 40.


* Runoff from heavy rainfall may result in rapid rises in river,
stream, and creek levels. Widespread rural lowland flooding is
possible and poor drainage urban areas may experience street
flooding.
