Watches & Warnings

Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 2:43 AM EDT Sep. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a dense fog
advisory, which is in effect until 10 am EDT this morning.

* Widespread dense fog will reduce visibilities under a quarter of
a mile through daybreak. The fog will lift and burn off by 10
am.

* The fog will impact the morning commute. Travelers should slow
down due to the poor visibility and be extra cautious at
intersections.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Special Statement
Issued: 10:45 PM EDT Sep. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Areas of dense fog through the morning commute...

A moist airmass across the region will make conditions conducive
to fog development overnight. Areas of dense fog will be likely,
especially in the valleys, near bodies of water, and where rain
occurred Tuesday evening. Visibilities could quickly be reduced
to a quarter mile or less at times, and will likely impact the
morning commute. Please take caution if traveling overnight or
during the early morning. Use low beam headlights and allow extra
time to reach your destination. The fog should lift by 10am.
