Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the great Miami river at Miamitown
* from Saturday evening to Wednesday morning.
* At 5 PM the stage was 14.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will rise above flood stage tomorrow evening and continue to
rise to near 23.7 feet by early Sunday afternoon.The river will fall
below flood stage early Wednesday morning.
* At stages near 24.0 feet, moderate flooding occurs along the great
Miami river south of Miamitown over southwest Miami township.
Flooding also occurs along the river from New Baltimore to Cleves.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Ohio River at Cincinnati
* until further notice.
* At 3 PM the stage was 57.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 52 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* The river will rise to near 59.5 feet by early Tuesday afternoon. The
river will then begin falling, but remain above flood stage for the
next 5 days.
* At stages near 60.0 feet, significant Road flooding occurs in Newport,
Kentucky. Much of southern Ohio township in Clermont County floods,
including about half of New Richmond. Flooding continues to worsen on
Route 52. Backwater flooding worsens along the Little Miami and
Licking rivers, with some main level of homes flooded in the east end
sections of Cincinnati.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the
following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette in, Franklin
in, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union in, and Wayne. In
Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant,
Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio,
Adams, Brown, Butler, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Fairfield,
Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking,
Licking, Madison, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross,
Scioto, and Warren.

* Through Sunday morning

* more rainfall is expected, with the potential for heavy rainfall
at times between Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Additional
rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches will be possible through
Sunday morning.

* Excessive rainfall will cause local rivers, creeks, and streams
to rise. Those near streams and rivers should be especially
cautious as streams and rivers can rise quickly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone
to flooding, should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings.
