The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Youngs Creek at Amity.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:15 PM Saturday the stage was 7.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 11.0 feet by
tomorrow morning then begin falling.
* At 11.0 feet... flooding along Youngs Creek becoming more extensive.
Historically since 1941, most floods crest at or below this level.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Driftwood river near Edinburgh 2 SW.
* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 9:30 am Saturday the stage was 9.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 15.8 feet by tomorrow evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by Tuesday before midnight.
* At 16.0 feet... extensive flooding along Driftwood river in northern
Bartholomew County and of double y saddle club area. Tannehill
Road west of bridge and CR 325 W south of Lowell Road are flooded.
Water is on or very close to Lowell Road and the CR 250 W
intersection east of the bridge. Water is very close or possibly
in several residences and seasonal homes along CR 330w and CR 325w.
Water is deeper on CR 330w just south of Ohio ridge Rd and CR 500n
west of CR 250w.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana, and
west central Indiana, including the following areas, in
central Indiana, Bartholomew, Boone, Clinton, Decatur,
Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard, Johnson, Madison,
Marion, Morgan, rush, Shelby, and Tipton. In east central
Indiana, Delaware, Henry, and Randolph. In south central
Indiana, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast
Indiana, Jennings. In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene,
Knox, Martin, and Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay,
Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Vermillion, and

* Through Sunday morning

* additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected through
Sunday morning, in areas that have already received
significant rainfall over the past few days. This will likely
worsen flooding on area waterways and lead to flooding of
other streams, low lying areas, and poor drainage areas.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
