The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of central Michigan, south central
Michigan, and southwest Michigan, including the following
areas, in central Michigan, Clare, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta,
Montcalm, and Osceola. In south central Michigan, Calhoun,
Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, and Jackson. In southwest
Michigan, Barry, Kalamazoo, and Kent.

* From Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning

* several inches of rain over a large area will be possible

* much of the watch area recently received significant rain.
Additional heavy rain would quickly turn to runoff that could
overwhelm some local drainage systems.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
