Issued: 10:21 PM EST Feb. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a
* flood advisory for
the little Muskegon river above Morley.
* Until Friday afternoon.
* At 07 PM Sunday the stage was estimated at 2.5 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 5.1 feet Wednesday early
afternoon.
* Impact, at 6.0 feet... widespread minor flooding of low lying areas
with homes isolated by high water.

... Flood Watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon through
Wednesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Michigan, south central Michigan,
southwest Michigan, and west central Michigan, including the
following areas, in central Michigan, Clare, Gratiot,
Isabella, Mecosta, Montcalm, and Osceola. In south central
Michigan, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, and Jackson.
In southwest Michigan, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent,
Ottawa, and Van Buren. In west central Michigan, Lake, Mason,
Muskegon, Newaygo, and Oceana.

* From Monday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon

* 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected from Monday through
Wednesday morning. Locally higher amounts are likely.

* The rainfall, combined with a melting snowpack and a frozen
ground could cause flooding across the area.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
