... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7 PM this
evening to noon EST Tuesday...

* a wintry mix of precipitation is expected tonight.
Initially... snow will spread into the region this evening.

* Snow will eventually transition to a period of sleet and
freezing rain later this evening and overnight... becoming all
rain by around midday Tuesday.

* Total snow accumulations of up to 1 inch are expected.

* Ice accumulations of one to two tenths of an inch are expected.

* The light snow and ice will result in hazardous travel
conditions... including during the morning commute on Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads... and use caution while driving. For the latest

... Wintry mix of precipitation this evening...

A band of mixed snow, sleet and freezing rain will slowly spread
north across the area for the remainder of this evening.
Precipitation will gradually transition to freezing rain as
surface temperatures remain at or slightly below freezing. Light
ice accumulations are expected on all exposed surfaces, with total
ice accumulations by midnight nearing a tenth of an inch,
especially across colder interior regions. Motorists are urged to
use extreme caution tonight as area roadways will likely become
ice covered and extremely slippery.
