... Gusty winds likely through morning commute...

At 430 am, northwesterly winds of 26 mph, gusting to 41 mph were
measured in Ames. These strong winds will continue to work
southward, into the Des Moines Metro, through sunrise and the
morning commute.

Through this morning, expect northwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph,
with gusts approaching 40 to 45 mph. These strong winds may
create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high-profile
vehicles on roadways oriented from southwest to northeast.
