Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:18 AM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 9 am this
morning to 3 PM CST Sunday...

* timing... accumulating snow will reach the area later this
morning and Interstate 35 by around midday. Snow will then end
from west to east late Sunday morning.

* Storm total snow accumulations... total accumulations for the
event will range from 2 to 4 inches down toward SAC City and
Rockwell City... up to 6 to 8 inches around Estherville and
Algona. Locally higher amounts are possible.

* Winds/visibility... southeast winds of around 15 mph with higher
gusts are forecast this afternoon into tonight. Visibility
restrictions should vary from a few miles down to less than a mile
during periods of heavier snowfall. Winds will diminish by
Sunday morning and lessen the potential for visibility
restrictions.

* Impacts... the primary impacts will be hazardous travel
conditions due to reduced visibility and snow covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while
driving.
