Watches & Warnings

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 4:13 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until noon CST today...

* timing... snow will continue this morning, gradually tapering off
by midday.

* Accumulations... additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are
possible, with the highest amounts south of Highway 18.

* Wind and visibility... north winds of 20 to 30 mph, with
occasional gusts of 35 to 40 mph, will be common today. Expect
areas of low visibility, especially while snow is falling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle.
