Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 10:06 AM CST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* short term trends... light to moderate rain and freezing rain
will continue to move south to north through Iowa into midday.
This will result in additional light ice accumulations... but
with temperatures just above freezing some melting may occur as
well keeping additional accumulations from being too extreme.
The precipitation coverage should diminish by this afternoon.

* Storm total ice accumulations... ice accumulations one to two
tenths of an inch are possible.

* Winds... east winds at 5 to 10 mph.

* Impacts... very hazardous travel due to ice covered and very
slick roads. Sidewalks and parking lots will be slick. Tree
damage and power outages are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.
