Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 3:59 PM CST Feb. 20, 2018 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning for rain and snowmelt remains in effect until 645
PM CST for Lafayette... green... northern Walworth... southern Iowa...
Rock... Waukesha... southern Dane... Jefferson and southeastern Dodge
counties...

At 357 PM CST, local law enforcement reported flooding across the
warned area. Green and rock counties appear to be the areas most
affected as of this afternoon. In addition to all the snow melt, 1
to 3 inches of rain have fallen on top of frozen ground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
