The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Wisconsin river at Portage.
* At 9:45 am Monday the stage was 13.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 18.0 feet by Friday morning.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... floodwaters surround some seasonal homes
along Old River Road in the Blackhawk Park area. Old River Road is
closed with water over it. Wood street in the Blackhawk Park area
is affected by floodwaters. West Lane Road in the Long Lake area
is closed with about 4 feet of water over it in places.

... Small Craft Advisory remains in effect from 2 PM this
afternoon to 3 am CST Tuesday...

* winds: southeast wind 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20
knots rising to 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 30 knots
in the afternoon. Winds will then veer to southwest tonight
before diminishing.

* Waves: waves 1 to 3 feet building to 3 to 4 feet in the
afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
