Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 12:14 AM CDT Sep. 26, 2016 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1115 am CDT Monday for
southern Steele... southeastern Blue Earth... Waseca and Freeborn
counties...

At 1210 am CDT... emergency management officials continued to report
flooding across the warned area. Homes and businesses in the cities
of Albert Lea... Saint Clair and Waseca are flooded and some Road
closures continue area wide.

While no further rainfall is expected over the next several
days... some rivers are only hitting their crest within the next few
hours. Others have hit their crest and are subsiding so flood waters
are expected to recede overnight through Monday morning.

Some locations that will experience continued flooding include...
Mankato... Albert Lea... Waseca... Eagle Lake... Janesville...
Blooming Prairie... Mapleton... New Richland... St. Clair...
Clarks Grove... Ellendale and Alden.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
