The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
western Norman County in northwestern Minnesota...
northeastern Cass County in southeastern North Dakota...
southeastern Traill County in southeastern North Dakota...

* until 200 am CDT.

* At 856 PM CDT, a thunderstorm producing heavy rain was located near
Kelso, moving northeast at 20 mph. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hillsboro, Halstad, Hendrum, hunter, Grandin and Kelso.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will result in minor flooding.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 87 and 105.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

At 1012 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Gary to near Borup to West Fargo. Movement
was east at 25 mph.

Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with these storms.

Strong thunderstorms will be near...
Borup and Felton around 1015 PM CDT.
Gary around 1030 PM CDT.
Twin Valley around 1035 PM CDT.
Ulen, Glyndon and Sabin around 1045 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these storms include Moorhead Airport.
