... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from this evening through
Thursday afternoon...

* locations... Chinook, Conrad, Browning, Logan Pass, Marias
Pass, Shelby, Chester, Cut Bank, Havre, Big Sandy, Fort
Benton, Lewistown, and Lewistown Divide.

* Timing... periods of steady to heavy snow are possible late
this evening through Thursday afternoon. Some rain may mix
with the snow on the plains late Wednesday morning and
afternoon. However, confidence in this mixed precipitation is
low.

* Snow accumulations... 3 to 7 inches.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Impacts... visibility may be reduced to less than 1 mile at
times in falling snow. Some drifting and blowing of snow is
possible. Roads may become snow-covered and slick.

High Wind Warning
Issued: 9:35 AM MST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM MST this
evening...

* winds... southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* Timing... winds will strengthen after daybreak and are expected
to be strongest late this morning through afternoon. Winds
should begin to ease this evening.

* Impacts... difficult travel, especially for high-profile
vehicles. Isolated tree and power line damage may occur. Some
areas with fresh snow across the south may see scattered
blowing and drifting snow at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
