Freezing Fog Advisory
Issued: 8:23 AM MST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Freezing fog advisory in effect until 11 am MST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a freezing
fog advisory... which is in effect until 11 am MST this morning.

* Timing... areas of dense fog have developed along the Interstate
90 corridor this morning from Whitehall to Bozeman. The fog will
linger through the morning... but should gradually diminish this
afternoon.

* Impacts... area webcams and spotter reports indicate the fog is
dense enough in spots to create a glaze of ice on elevated
surfaces and roadways. This will lead to icy roads and difficult
travel in spots this morning. Remember... black ice is not always
readily apparent on roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freezing fog advisory means ice... frost and rime will be
deposited on bridges and roadways. Visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile in fog. If driving... slow
down... use you headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of
you. Be alert for dangerously slippery roads.

For specific Road and travel conditions in Montana... dial 5 1 1 .
