... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 5 PM MST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect until 5 PM MST
Monday.

* Locations: the Bridger Range, Battle Ridge Pass, Targhee Pass,
and West Yellowstone.

* Timing: periods of light to moderate snow are expected,
especially this afternoon through Monday afternoon.

* Accumulations: 2 to 4 inches of snow at lower elevations, including
Battle Ridge Pass and West Yellowstone, while 4 to 10 inches
are expected in the mountains, including the Bridger Range and
Targhee Pass.

* Winds: southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Visibilities: less than 1/2 mile at times in falling snow,
especially when accompanied by blowing snow.

* Impacts: difficult driving conditions along snow-covered and
slick roads.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow

Gallatin National Forest avalanche center.

Avalanche warning

The Gallatin National Forest avalanche center is issuing a
backcountry avalanche warning for the Bridger Range. Heavy
snowfall and strong wind over the last 36 hours has created a
high avalanche danger on all slopes. Natural and human triggered
avalanches are likely today. Avalanche terrain and avalanche
runout zones should be avoided.

This warning will expire or be updated by 6:00 a.M. On February
27, 2017.

You are urged to contact the Gallatin National Forest avalanche
center for more detailed information.
